Despite the strength of its mission, the Institute’s visual identity no longer reflected its ambition or its audience, necessitating a brand evolution that aligns with its core values.
The brand encountered three main challenges:
An outdated visual identity that seemed tired and didn't connect well with emerging learners, educators, and partners.
Unclear and blurry distinction between the Blanchard Institute and its parent organization, The Ken Blanchard Company.
Operational inefficiencies where teams often recreated assets from scratch and struggled to maintain consistency across different channels.
The mandate was carefully designed to rejuvenate the brand through strategic branding, making it more welcoming and relatable to a younger, education-focused audience. At the same time, it respects and preserves the core values of the Blanchard Masterbrand. The Institute sought a brand system that could confidently stand on its own while still feeling like a beloved member of the Blanchard family.
